I am not sure what the purpose of life is. Sometimes I like to think about an entire universe existing inside each of our physical bodies. Other times I see the world as this great intertwining of space, time, and energy. When you sit back and consider this, you tend to look to other people for answers. It gets to a point where you realize you are not alone in these thoughts and the feelings passing through you. You realize everyone is just looking at someone else for answers, then something clicks. Maybe the point of being here is to be here, with each other.
This is what fuels me as an artist, being a human. Further, I am interested in being a human in response to existence. My belief is authenticity can be found in movement, and I seek the enlightenment that comes with being true to your soul. This is why I am drawn to dance as my medium; its innateness and naturality. I suppose I dance a bit selfishly. I revel in the cathartic freedom I find in stepping outside of my singular universe for a while. I choreograph to make the intertwinement of humanity a more understanding place, and I teach to make humaneness kinder.
